Au 1465 takes its name from the elevation in meters of the Champex-Lac resort. The location offers a breathtaking view of the lake and the mountains that surround it.
The DNA of Au Club Alpin is clearly present in this cuisine, which is resolutely seasonal, locally inspired, and promotes organic cultivation. Its passion, authenticity, and emphasis on flavor forge its culinary identity.
Convinced that the epicurean experience does not stop at the plate, we have taken care in every detail of our restaurant. The design is subtle and inspired by the surrounding nature. Our chef Mariano Buda
Originally from Abruzzo, Mariano Buda arrived in Switzerland in 2019 when he joined Damien Germanier (17/20 in Gault et Millau and one Michelin star) where he worked as second chef until he met the Thétaz family and became the head chef at Au Club Alpin.
Mariano Buda is today one of the most brilliant members of the new generation of chefs in Valais. He received the silver medal in the Grand Prix Joseph Favre 2022 gastronomic competition, which is a competition that emphasizes Valais products. He joined Au 1465 in December of 2022 and within a year had already earned Michelin star and 16 Gault & Millau points.
Chef Mariano Buda combines his desire to create cuisine enthusiastically highlighting Valais products with his passion for aesthetics. He teases out subtle flavors to dazzle all epicureans.
THE CELLAR
Boasting several hundred different vintages, the Cave du 1465 gives pride of place to the best vineyard and wine artisans from all the wine-growing regions of Switzerland as well as from the surrounding countries. Created by a renowned sommelier, in collaboration with the hotel owner, the collection focuses on the Alpine region and its emblematic grape varieties.
The best way to discover our cellar is to book our “Wine Tasting” experience. This distinctive experience will be created by our sommelier especially for you and tailored to your tastes. Together you will choose a theme and a format so that your tasting is unique.
We also offer our wines to take away. Come visit us, benefit from the advice of our sommelier, and makes your selection from among 1,000 labels from the exclusive Au Club Alpin cellar.
THE BAR
A place for living and sharing, our Au Service Course bar and its plush armchairs invite you to relax. Our guests can enjoy a cocktail or a cordial from our region that our sommelier will be happy to serve while offering the background story.
Enjoy our afternoon snack menu from 15.00 to 18.00 Wednesday through Sunday. In July and August, the bar is open Tuesday through Sunday.
Celebrating a special moment Au Club Alpin
It is possible to reserve part of the restaurant for your private events. Up to 30 people can use the private terrace for an aperitif and a private dining room overlooking the lake.
